Do not forget … Our Military & Their Families This Memorial Day! What is Memorial Day to most of Americans? Is it hamburgers, hotdogs, barbecues, concerts, sales or…What does it Mean to you? I was at the store yesterday the parking lots were full. This was not just at one store it was at all three major supermarket stores here in Ellensburg, WA. I thought to myself “oh.. families and groups were getting together to celebrate this wonderful thought-filled holiday.” Oh I was stupid! I have either been living in a small town for too long or getting too old! They were kids from all over including Canada packing up their cars and ice chests with food, beer, wine and ice for the great “Concert at the Gorge”, Referred as: Sasquatch! Music Festival 2012.

Gorge Amphitheatre Sasquatch Festival
There are apparently over 150 different bands and comedy acts going to participate in the venue! Maybe the kids of today will celebrate their freedom this way. Hopefully they understand the sacrifices that have been made to kids their own age, families and service folks who have fought for their freedom enabling them this choice or NOT!
Memorial Day sometimes gets forgotten however this year it seems to be remembered more. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. If we did not have the wars, so many folks would not have been so touched by the memories of death and sacrifice.
If you are enjoying the friendship of family and friends at picnics, parades, camping or at the concert please just stop On Memorial Day and Remember to be thankful for the Peace and Freedom we have, how we got it & the sacrifices that were made for us to have it!
